MaintenanceCleaning Your Exterior Aluminum Cladding
Do not use abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads on aluminum surfaces. Use a mild soap and water solution to clean the exterior clad surface. If you have a stain or deposit, you may use a small amount of mineral spirits to remove it.
If dullness appears with your windows, you can use a quality car cleaner and wax to restore the shine. Touch-up paint is available from your local ETI distributor. For homes near a salt spray environment, use fresh water to rinse the exterior cladding and operator hardware at least quarterly.
Outside Glass Surface
To clean the outside glass surfaces, use a vinegar-based solution and a sponge. If streaks still appear after a thorough cleaning, rinse the glass with clean water. To remove grease or sealant on the glass, use mineral spirits sparingly, then wash with a vinegar-based cleaning solution.
DO NOT USE A RAZOR BLADE TO SCRAPE OFF STUBBORN MATERIALS.
DOING SO MAY LEAVE PERMANENT MARKS ON THE GLASS OR SCRATCHES THAT COULD CAUSE GLASS BREAKAGE.
